  1. I think that the most impactful advertising technique for me as a consumer is the emotion portion. That is because when I feel strong emotions towards something, I usually act on it, which I'm sure most other consumers do as well. If an advertisement can make a person cry, its more than likely that the viewer will remember it, and even share the advertisement with other consumers.

Amazon does a great job with advertising. They always have an advertisement on the television, emails going out, or ads on social media websites. They always advertise new gadgets and electronics that are the "new thing". I actually bought a phone case and watch bands from the website, which I saw in an advertisement on Facebook when I was scrolling through it one day.

  2. I think the the emotional technique has the most impact on me because I am an emotional person I really like sentimental gifts. I usually want my mom to buy me something that has meaning so when I see commercials that you can personalize and that show meaning, I want her to get that for me. Emotion commercials get my attention the most because that is what I like to watch and I keep engaged better.

When maurices has deals posted online like on facebook, it catches my eyes because I love shopping there. Typically my grandma and aunt have a maurices card which is a bonus because then I get more money off when I spend so much in which I have no problem doing so lol. When I go into the stores after seeing the advertisement of the sale then there are sometimes even more sales that I can hit up.

  3. I personally enjoy the commercials with humor because they make me laugh. I'm more likely to show it to other people so they can enjoy the humor. If it's a product that looks cool then I would be more likely to buy it and the humor portion makes me want to watch the full commercial.

I've seen American Eagle clothing ads on Facebook and I always click on them. I'm more likely to buy clothes when I see them online and it usually works. Facebook tends to put ads to websites that I visit a lot so I'm more likely to shop there.

  4. I personally believe the advertising technique that has the most impact on me is humor. I’m more likely to buy a product if the commercial is funny. Also, an advertisement is more memorable if it involves humor because many people talk about the funny ones. The commercial leaves a positive impact on the viewer.

The packaging of certain products have impulsed me to buy them. For example, I have bought makeup palettes that had eye-catching designs on the outside. I tend to buy items with interesting, appealing designs because somehow I feel that the product is better with a unique design! So the packaging of products that is a definitely a way that advertising has affected my purchases.

  5. Humor has a more lasting impact on me when it comes to advertising. I’m more likely to remember something funny than a serious commercial. If it can get me to laugh, it’s a good sign the ad is working. Plus, the advertisement isn't negative like some, but is rather positive.

If I’m buying something in a store, I usually try to save as much money as possible. But most times, there’s “big deals” at stores like “Buy 3 Get 2 Free” or “Buy One Get One Half Off”. This uses causes me to spend more money than I usually would because I think I’m saving money when in reality I’m just spending more.

  6. 1)I think the sentimental values, the ones that go after with emotions. For example, Budweiser with the puppies. It attracts people. Those one always stick in my mind. The commercials of chef boyardee play to people’s emotions when the can follows the kids home because, thats where the can belongs.
    2) When I’m thinking start thinking about presents for people, I normally pay attention for to the advertisements for ideas for Christmas presents for myself and for others. I remember in middle school I wanted a nike sweatshirt because that what I always saw around me. I remember people talk about other clothing with the logos are a sense of advertisement in there own because when they walk around wearing the brand logo, others see it and want that as well. Often times I buy an item of clothing because I’ve seen it out and about.

  7. As a consumer, the advertising technique that works best for me is music. This technique works best for me because I am passionate about music and it generally sticks in my mind longer than other commercials. Music is very appealing to me and it also can be extremely catchy which causes me to remember it for a long period of time whereas I tend to forget about emotional ones even though I enjoy them at the time.

I received an ad for Victoria’s Secret in my gmail and also received four coupons. They were very appealing to the eye because they were bright and advertised several different deals on each. I had one that was a deal on two pairs of leggings, also a free duffel bag and water bottle with the purchase of a t-shirt and then also 25% off an order of $100 or more. Needless to say, I ended up spending about $100 total even with the three coupons. I felt though that I got many good deals but ended up spending way more money than I anticipated just because the deals offered a lot of free stuff with the purchase of something else and then a discount after spending a lot of money already.

  8. 1) I personally can't choose between two advertising techniques but between humor and sentiment in a commercial, these are usually the two that persuade me the most. The commercials that hit my emotions always stick with me and leave a memory. Commercials with humor and normally catchy and bring a laugh to me at the most random times. This way, I don't forget about the products being sold just like the sellers intend.

    2) I always buy on impulse when I see a "DEAL" sign in front of me. I may be going to buy one item but they show a sign that is colorful, just in the right spot for me to see that always gets me to buy more. Which then come to find out, I end up spending more money than I would in the first place.

  9. 1. I think the commercial aspect that has the most impact on me is the sentiment. Anything that tears at the heart strings leaves the biggest impression on me. The biggest example of this is the ASPCA commercials. They urge you to donate by using sadness of puppies to persuade.
    2. I watch tv rarely, but most of the ads I see come from scrolling through social media. I shop online at American Eagle a lot, and most of the time ads appear pertaining to this or other boutiques that sell similar clothing. I typically see sales with American Eagle, that have clothing fitting my particular style, so then I will go online and shop the clearance or find the item that caught my eye in the first place.

  10. 1) I'd say that the most powerful one for me would be humor. If a commercial can make me laugh, I'll probably remember it and therefore think of it when I'm in the store. I can still remember commercials from when I was a kid.

    2) I saw one ad for a Black Friday video game, and immediately thought I had to buy it. It was only ten dollars off, but I thought I was getting a great deal. I really didn't need it, but I saw a deal sign, and figured that I had to have it.

  11. 1) The advertising technique that has the most impact on me as a viewer is humor. I think humor is such a big marketing tool because people tend to remember things that make them laugh. A good punch line or saying often keeps a product in my mind.
    2) When I was a kid skittles had a commercial about skittles-pocks. As a kid I thought it was super funny so every time we went to the store or somewhere that sold them, I wanted them because I wanted to see if skittles-pocks was a real thing.

  12. 1 Humor has the most impact on me as a viewer if advertisment. Humor keeps a viewer watching and when someone heres or sees something funny it sticks with them. Most of the commercials I see on the tv that are funny to me I remember a good punch line.
2 When I get a email for stuff on eBay I always look at them. Most stuff that I see on eBay are key chains, stickers, parts, tools, and funny sweatshirts. Sometime I will find something that I want and then go and wast my money on it. eBay sends a ad on email once a month to me.
